How Botulinum Toxin Antiperspirant Injections Work
Antiperspirants inject Botox into the sweat glands of the armpits to reduce sweat secretion. There are two types of sweat glands on the skin, one is the eccrine glands distributed in the skin all over the body, and the other is the apocrine sweat glands located in the armpits, also called apocrine sweat glands. Apocrine sweat glands are most concentrated in the armpits. When the sweat secreted by these sweat glands is decomposed by bacteria, odor will be produced.
Botulinum toxin injections act on the source area of excessive sweating, that is, the nerve endings of the sweat glands, inhibiting the release of chemicals, thereby reducing the amount of sweat. At the same time, it can also reduce the sweaty and humid environment, thus greatly reducing the occurrence of odor caused by bacterial decomposition.
